Cookie policy

How website features, security checks and restricted preview sign-in use your browser.

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. This policy covers the public Bannister Brewing Co. website at bannisterbrewing.com and bannisterbrewing.pages.dev, and explains the separate use of authentication cookies on restricted preview sites.

The public website does not use advertising cookies, visitor analytics, tracking pixels or embedded social-media feeds. Its own scripts do not set cookies or write to local storage or session storage. Fonts and artwork are hosted with the website.

Website features

Beer filters, comparison selections and artwork choices operate in page memory and are not saved between visits. Website search runs in your browser without sending the text you type to an external search service. If a search term or enquiry choice is included in a URL you visit, that URL forms part of the request to the hosting service.

Following an email link opens your chosen email application. Following an external link takes you to another service, which has its own privacy and cookie policies. An ordinary external link does not load that service into this website.

Cloudflare security

Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. Depending on the security checks applied to a request, it may use cookies needed to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic or remember a completed security challenge. These are separate from advertising or audience tracking.

cf_clearance may be set after a visitor completes a Cloudflare challenge. It records that the security check has been passed; its expiry depends on the challenge configuration. __cf_bm may be used where Cloudflare bot protection is active and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. These are conditional security cookies, rather than a statement that every visitor receives them.

Cloudflare can also process technical request information without setting a cookie. For more information, see our privacy notice and Cloudflare’s cookie documentation.

Restricted preview sites

The public website does not require a Cloudflare Access login. Restricted preview deployments require authorised testers to sign in, and use authentication and anti-forgery cookies to provide that requested access securely.

CF_Authorization identifies an authenticated Access session. The preview application session is configured for 24 hours. Cloudflare also documents CF_Session, an anti-forgery cookie on its login domain with a four-hour duration, and CF_AppSession, an application anti-forgery cookie with a 24-hour duration. These cookies relate to preview sign-in, rather than general browsing of the public website.

See Cloudflare’s Access cookie documentation for further details.

Your choices

We do not currently offer optional advertising or analytics cookies, so there are no such cookies to accept or reject and no optional-cookie consent banner. Continued browsing is not treated as consent to tracking.

You can inspect, block or delete stored website data in your browser settings. Blocking security or authentication cookies can prevent a security challenge or restricted preview login from working. If we introduce other storage or access technologies, we will update this policy and obtain consent or provide the choices required by applicable law before using them.
